At its April 14, 2026 meeting, the County Council introduced the FY27 Annual Budget & Appropriation Ordinance of Dorchester County, Maryland.

The public is invited to attend the following public hearings in Room 110 of the County Office Building, 501 Court Lane, Cambridge, Maryland, to voice their comments:

• Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at 6:05 p.m.
• Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at 6:05 p.m.
• Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at 6:05 p.m.

All Council meetings are livestreamed on on Town Hall Streams.

On May 5, 2026 at 6:05 p.m., the County Council will hold a public hearing on Legislative Bill No. 2026-5: FY27 Annual Budget & Appropriation Ordinance of Dorchester County, Maryland, in Room 110 of the County Office Building, 501 Court Lane, Cambridge, Maryland, 21613.

Addtional public hearings will be held on the following dates:

• Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at 6:05 p.m.
• Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at 6:05 p.m.

The public is invited to provide comments on the budget bill during these meetings. A Public Comment period is also held at the end of each Council meeting.

All Council meetings are livestreamed on on Town Hall Streams.

On May 12, 2026 at 6:05 p.m., the County Council will hold a public hearing on Legislative Bill No. 2026-5: FY27 Annual Budget & Appropriation Ordinance of Dorchester County, Maryland, in Room 110 of the County Office Building, 501 Court Lane, Cambridge, Maryland, 21613.

A final public hearing will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at 6:05 p.m., which the Council will consider the adoption of the proposed bill. 

The public is invited to provide comments on the budget bill during these meetings. A Public Comment period is also held at the end of each Council meeting.

At its May 14, 2026 Budget Work Session, the Council reviewed proposed amendments to the FY27 Budget presented by the Council’s Office and Finance Departments as outlined in the below

On May 19, 2026 at 6:05 p.m., the County Council will hold the final public hearing on the proposed FY27 Budget of Dorchester County, Maryland, in Room 110 of the County Office Building, 501 Court Lane, Cambridge, Maryland, 21613.

Additionally, the Council will consider Resolution No. 695: FY27 Schedule of Fees, which supports the FY27 Budget.

The public is invited to provide comments on the budget bill during this meeting. After this public comment period, the Council will consider the adoption of the proposed bill.
